Visitor privacy notice

Last updated

This short notice is for people visiting an estate that uses XTEREA. It explains what happens to your details when a resident gives you an access code or a guard checks you in at the gate.

The full Privacy Policy has more detail. The estate you are visiting is responsible for deciding to collect your visit details; XTEREA processes them on the estate's behalf.

1. What is collected

  • your name and how many people are with you;
  • the house or organisation you are visiting, and who invited you;
  • any note the resident adds, and your access code;
  • the time you enter and, when recorded, the time you leave.

2. Why it is collected

So the estate can control who comes through the gate, keep a reliable record for security, and contact the resident who invited you if needed.

3. Who can see it

Estate administrators and the security team at the gate can see your visit record. The resident who invited you can see the visit they created. XTEREA staff only access estate data when needed to run or secure the Service, or when the estate asks for support.

4. How long it is kept

Unused codes expire after 24 hours. Completed visits stay in the estate's gate history while the estate uses XTEREA, then follow the retention rules in our Privacy Policy when the estate leaves the platform.

5. Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your visit record, or ask for it to be corrected or deleted where the law allows. Start with the estate you visited. You can also email [email protected] and we will help the estate respond. You may complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
